01 / Overview

What is .sucks?

The .sucks extension launched in 2015 and was controversial because of its high prices for brands. A .sucks domain is meant for criticism, complaints and consumer feedback sites.

.sucks is open to everyone. Anyone can register a .sucks domain. No documents are needed. You do not need any paperwork, and the domain is usually live within minutes of payment.

A Pakistani consumer rights group could use it, but most businesses register their own name only to stop others using it. That is the kind of use .sucks is built for.

You can register .sucks for 1 to 10 years at a time. Renew before the expiry date to keep your website and email running. If it expires, there is a redemption window of about 30 days, but the restore fee is higher than a normal renewal.

Moving .sucks to DomainWalay is simple. Unlock the domain at your current provider, get the auth code (also called EPP code), and start the transfer here. New registrations and recent transfers have a 60 day lock. Most transfers finish in 5 to 7 days.
