These terms apply to every .it domain registered, renewed or transferred through DomainWalay. They sit on top of the DomainWalay Terms of Service, Domain Registration Agreement and Acceptable Use Policy. If a registry rule changes, the registry rule wins.
1. Registry and governing policy
.it is a country-code TLD operated by Registro.it (IIT-CNR). By registering .it you accept the registry policies for the extension, including naming rules, eligibility rules and any published fees. The laws of Italy may apply to the registry side of the registration.
2. Eligibility
You must be a person or company based in the EU, EEA, Switzerland, Vatican or San Marino. People outside these areas cannot register directly. No documents are uploaded, but you must give a valid address in an eligible country. Italian companies give a VAT number. You confirm that the information you give is true. If the registry rejects the registration for eligibility reasons, the order is refunded after registry fees, if any, are deducted.
3. Registration term and activation
- Minimum term: 1 year. Maximum term: 1 years.
- Names must be 2 to 63 characters, letters, numbers and hyphens only, and cannot start or end with a hyphen.
- Activation happens after the registry approves the eligibility check.
- Internationalized names are accepted in the scripts the registry supports.
4. Renewal, grace and redemption
- Renewal is due before the expiry date. Auto renew is available and can be turned off in the client area.
- Grace period after expiry: about 30 days at the normal renewal price. Services may stop during grace.
- Redemption period: about 30 days. Restore fees are higher than renewal and are shown before you pay.
- After all periods end, the domain is deleted by the registry and can be registered by anyone.
- Renewal prices can change when registry prices change. The price shown in the client area at the time of renewal applies.
5. Transfers
- Transfer in requires the domain to be unlocked and a valid auth (EPP) code.
- No fixed transfer lock is published by the registry.
- Typical transfer time: Usually within 1 to 5 days.
- Transfer out: we release the auth code and unlock the domain within one working day of a verified request from the registrant.
- A transfer can be denied for unpaid fees, a pending dispute, or a court order.
6. Disputes
Domain disputes for .it are handled under Registro.it dispute resolution (arbitration). DomainWalay follows decisions from the registry, a dispute panel or a court with jurisdiction. Registering a name that infringes a trademark is at your own risk.
7. Registration data and privacy
You must keep registrant, admin and technical contacts accurate. The registry publishes some registrant data and privacy protection is not offered for this extension. Registry and ICANN data escrow rules apply where relevant. Inaccurate data can lead to suspension.
8. Suspension and cancellation
A .it domain can be suspended or cancelled for breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, registry policy, unpaid fees, false registration data or abuse reports that are found valid. Where possible we notify the registrant by email before action.
9. Fees and refunds
Prices are in Pakistani Rupees and include the registry fee. Registrations are refundable within 5 days only if the registry allows deletion during its add grace period and the domain has not been used; renewals, transfers and restores are not refundable. Full details are in the Refund Policy.
